Where are you going? On vacation or on a journey?

Overtourism has by now become a widespread phenomenon across the world, in every place where the visitor turns into a tourist. The increasingly dominant tourism industry moves millions of people toward destinations where beauty, nature, or history were once the protagonists, transforming the experience into a shopping-mall pantomime.

The tourist is dropped into a place that is unfamiliar yet already seen on the web. Very often, they ignore what they are actually visiting; what matters is taking a photo home, snapping a selfie, or simply being able to say, “I’ve been there.”

It is the alienation of the individual who lives an experience without presence, who inhabits a non-place that would have so much to tell the deafness of the soul
